Accessibility
Tele-Centre Assist Inc. is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology.
Standard We Work To
This site is built to target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That covers the Level A and AA success criteria of WCAG 2.0 required under Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation.
What We Have Done
- Text and interface colours are tested to meet or exceed a 4.5:1 contrast ratio.
- The site is operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link.
- Semantic landmarks and a single, ordered heading structure support screen readers.
- All decorative motion, including the animated hero, is disabled for visitors whose system requests reduced motion. Nothing is conveyed by motion alone.
- Every image carries alternative text; the decorative hero canvas is hidden from assistive technology.
- Interactive controls expose their state (for example expanded/collapsed) programmatically, and results that appear dynamically are announced.
- Layout reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 px viewport.
Known Limitations
We are candid about what is not yet done. The site currently applies custom inertial scrolling on pointer devices, which is scheduled for removal in favour of the browser's native scrolling. Some small interface labels sit below a 44 px touch target. Neither is a Level AA failure, but both are on the list.
